From the Director's Desk
by Joanne Cook

We have been getting requests for trainings that the HCQU can not provide. It is not the role nor plan from OMR to have the HCQU staff provide the required CPR, First Aid, or Med Certification trainings. We have also been asked to provide Sign Language training. Our staff does not have the training or knowledge to present this training. The HCQU is able to put together trainings on physical and behavioral health, and we are always open to new requests from Providers. The HCQU staff will work with provider staff to tailor our trainings to the needs of the caregivers of those individuals we serve.

The recommendation meetings for the Health Risk Profiles are almost complete. Suggestions for trainings are discussed with those who attend the review meetings.

The HCQU will be scheduling requested trainings for November and December. If you have any requests for trainings, please call Rich at 814-728-9400 to schedule your training needs.

Darryl is compiling the information from our survey sent out to provider agencies and county staff. We will be sending this information to each person who was sent a survey, so you can see the results. We thank each person who returned a survey to the HCQU. We want to provide you with the information you need and the surveys are going to help us do a better job. Please call if I can answer any questions or if you would like me to talk about the role of the HCQU with you.

Thank you.
