In the Kitchen with Darryl:

Chocolate Chip Muffins

Muffins:
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup sugar
3 tablespoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
¾ cup miniature chocolate chips
1 egg well beaten
¾ cup milk
Topping:
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
Heat the oven to 400 degrees. Line muffin tin with baking cups or grease lightly. Lightly spoon the flour into measuring cup. Combine the flour, ½ cup sugar, baking powder, salt, and chocolate chips. Combine the egg, milk, and oil, and stir it into the dry ingredients just until moistened. The batter will be lumpy. Fill the muffin cups 2/3 full. In a small bowl, combine the topping ingredients. Sprinkle evenly over the muffins. Bake at 400° for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove immediately from pan. Serve warm. Makes 12-15.
-- The amount of baking powder seems like a lot, but it is correct.
