"Behavior" is a word we frequently find ourselves using, especially in our work with people who have developmental disabilities, yet how many of us could objectively define what "behavior" is? Do you know the difference between "negative reinforcement" and "punishment"? What is "satiation" and how can it be avoided? Understanding these principles can help us better evaluate what we are doing and how we may inadvertently be contributing to the very behaviors we are trying to help someone change.
